the Power of PLAY!

So often in my work, I use the word, PLAY— I play with clients, with ghosts, with retreat attendees. It’s one of the reasons I love my work so much… I get to play! And in this reality, mostly, that word is a cue to not take something seriously. To downgrade something, brush it off, not value it.

This couldn’t be further from my truth! If I’m playing? That means I’m getting down to the nitty and the gritty, it means I’m asking and then acknowledging where I get to start with someone or something, what my client is willing to receive in this moment and how they want to be approached.

Play and Flirtation are how I move through the world. I’m coded in Jazz, and moving in and from the moment is second nature to me— more than that, it’s home!

Playing in my spiritual and energetic work means that I’m dancing, it means I’m focused, and the target is moving. Movement is everything for me! I may be the only woman in my Southern Appalachian family who doesn’t quilt. Knitting stresses me out to no end, and I can’t sew. But if it moves? YES PLEASE. I’ll have some. Energies, dancing, music, people, ghosts… it’s a symphony I enjoy so much!
